I was in a store this afternoon that blew my mind. I only went because it had been highly reccomended to me, but someone failed to include the anti-gun merchandise. What actually blew my mind is that the store's workers and owners were all gun owners! When I spotted the first anti-gun bumper sticker and saw several more (very insulting ones, too) I started putting back the stuff I had chosen. When the owner asked if everything was ok I told her I couldn't support an anti-gun shop. At which point she told me she was a gun owner and even showed me the revolver under the counter. She even told if I was concealing (and of course I was) that my gun was more than welcome in the shop. So I asked, "Why are you aiding the anti-gunners with all this crap then?"
"Because it sells."
Has anyone else come across pro-gun sellouts like this?
It's Capitalism at it's finest. Store owners have forgotten or denied theirt own personal morals in order to obtain a decent profit margin. It's kind of sad. I will say that the gun stores I use haven't sold out YET.
I think I would have been putting the stuff back too SuckLead, and when I was told that it sells, My response would have been something like "Not all of the time"... You did good girl!
I cant count the number of gun stores i have been to that dont allow concealed carry. They blame it on reckless customers but i still wonder sometimes.
sucklead You made the right desision by putting the stuff back. The only thing you could have done better is taken it to the counter and told them you wouldnt buy all this stuff, left it at the counter and made them put it back.
I guess this leads me to the question of what can we do as gun owners to change people perception of guns when 85% of the media is putting us down every day?
