I watched Hero again yesterday - that is such a cool movie. The colors are spectacular as well. And, I really like Zhang Ziyi
Jet Li's last martial art movie is coming out this Fri. Looking forward to seeing it. He apparently may not retire from movies altogether, but he claims that this is his last action film. Not sure if he'll find parts outside of action movies, however.
I'm a fan too - I was suprised to hear that this was his last action movie - any idea why?
It doesn't have Jet Li in it, but have you seen House of Flying Daggers? Zhang Ziyi is in that one too - a pretty cool movie, IMO..
I read an interview w/ him. When that tidal wave his Africa and Asia, Jet Li was caught up in it. I think he injured his leg or foot. Anyway, he claims it put things in perspective. He apparently wants to devote more of his time to Buddhism, and to doing other things.
Yes, I have seen House of Flying Daggers several times. Saw it at the movies too. I didn't like it as much as Hero and Crouching Tiger, though. Jet Li was supposed to be in Crouching Tiger, but he turned it down (I think he regrets that now). And, he didn't wanna be in the Matrix sequels either, because he wanted to "make it on his own."
I really liked Cradle to the Grave - good action, and some funny parts roo. Plus, with his 1 handed fighting (w/ his other hand in his pocket) - that was just kewl. And, I loved the scene where he drops floor to floo on the balconies with just his hands.
The One was also pretty good too. That movie was the first place I had ever seen the actor who plays in The Transporter.
