I just got finished reading a good work of fiction entitled, "Essential Liberty" by Rob Olive, his first book. at the end, there is a great comment he makes which I have paraphrased to relate to governments in general.
"The more comfortable government gets with doing things for us, the more natural it feels for them to do things to us."
I like this because it is so true and goes along with things I have written and said for many years. Think about it.
(Original sentence. "Don't you think that the more comfortable Congress gets with the idea of doing things for us, the more natural it feels to do something like this to us?" [Rob Olive])
