Thread: Gun shows?

Gun shows can be a hit or miss scenario. Some are run very well, and others, not so much. I used to go to many, but for the last 10 yrs. or so, I've pretty much given up on them.

Prices have gotten crazy (for the most part) and you see more and more non-firearm items being hawked. Some shows try and charge you $5.00 or more to park your car.

I get tired of trying to get around baby strollers, small kids running around like it's a playground, and teen-agers showing up to show off their latest, greatest fashion trends.

Besides, I have pretty much what I want in my firearms collection. If I want / need something new, I look for it on-line.

You forgot about all the people that muzzle you, while your standing there, and you see a firearm that you like, and the seller lives in another city, and there's a 3 day waiting period(here) so you either have to wait for the next show he/she's at, or drive way out of your way to pick it up.

Gun shows are good for 2 things.One is to handle something you can't normally find to see if you'll want one.The other is be there opening day when the doors open to catch any good deals before they're scarfed up.Sometimes you can find ammo or other tidbits reasonable as you make your way through,but once the original mission is done,get the hell out.Some of them you swear you just walked into a redneck loonybin.
