"Limited Warranty" - Barska
Just want to make everyone aware of Barska's 1-year limited warranty - and what "limited" really means.
I bought one of their Red Dot sights from OpticsPlanet back in January of this year. Finally got to take it out to the range this week for the first time (I've been doing a lot of travelling lately) and lo and behold the dot will not adjust. Nice and bright, but can't move it at all. I called OpticsPlanet and because I'm outside of their 30-day window I needed to contact Barska directly. I called Barska CS and explained it to them. They said no problem the item is covered under the warranty, and they sent me an RMA number in an email. When I read the email I discovered that there is a $10 "Warranty Fee". This "Warranty Fee" is for their shipping a new replacement product to me.
Brand new, out of the box defective product and it's going to cost me $10 to have them ship a new product back to me, in addition to the $10 that it will cost me to ship the defecting product back to them. So my $36.99 red dot sight will now cost me $56.99 <GROAN>
They aren't the only ones to do that, and they won't be the last.
You bought a $37 Red Dot. You're not going to get the 1st class treatment.
