It varies between counties in NYS, but going to the judge is a good thing. Mine was reviewed by the judge, and he is the final sign-off. Good luck.
i have a question . i applyed for my CC permit in october and i recently called the pistol permit office in monroe county new york for the status . the woman said "it went to the JUDGE on january 22nd so you should hear something soon" so my question is , is the fact that it made it to the judge a good sign ? does that mean ill most likely get approved ? because someone told me if i was to get rejected that it would not have even made it to the judge and would have got rejected at one of the beginning stages . is this true ? and is the judge the last and final stage ? i hope i explained my question correctly and thanks in advance for any replys
