Now I just need to start filling it up with some essentials. you know... new folding knife, new flashlight, med kit, pistol mag pouches for the inside...etc.

Nice! I would throw in a small tool kit, bore snake, and a little bottle of oil/grease (with a tight seal/lid) along with the items you mentioned. Oh, and some beef jerky.
