Tell it like it is.
We sang that at church Sunday in observance of the Fourth. I've been blessed to see a good bit of this country.
Some of the most spectacular scenery in the world is ours.
Who can top the Grand Canyon? As far as the eye can see are layers of multi-colored rock carved by the ages.
Or Dead Horse Point in Utah? Standing there, I felt I could almost see the skyline of Memphis. What an awsome view.
And crossing Beartooth Pass up in Montana? Someone once said this was the most beautiful drive in the United States.
Then we got to the line:
"Thine alabaster cities gleam, undimmed by human tears" and 9/11 popped into my mind. Kind of tightened my throat up.
What a beautiful Country. What an awful price is paid for it.
Thank God for those who did. And are.
