Here is whats left of his Camaro after "an electrical short". Hasn't given any further details other than lost electrical power and saw a little smoke from under the hood, popped it open and, woosh! He's still kinda' upset...
The hood was fiberglass...
He used to build engines for a race team. The engine was his own build, 500hp, electronically controlled carb. He had a lot of miles on it too, so this was a something wore out failure rather than a new build failure.

It was. Other than some worn carpet and upholstery, it was in excellent condition in and out. I wish the dash pad on mine looked that good...
That's sad. I always loved that body style in the Camaro. I've probably worked on and driven 10 of those types of Camaros that my friends owned throughout high school and thereafter.
