HOUSTON -- Being tied up did not stop a northwest Harris County storeowner from fighting back and killing a robbery suspect, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.
Harris County sheriff's investigators said a gunman entered Kenneth's PC cell phone store in the 12000 block of Veterans Memorial shortly after 1:30 p.m. and tied up the owner in the back.
"The suspect was robbing the store when the owner was able to free himself, retrieve his own handgun and a gunfight ensued, and the suspect was killed at the scene," said Sgt. Ben Beall with the Harris County Sheriff's Department.
No charges are expected to be filed against the owner, who was not injured.
The storeowner had recently installed a surveillance system, but it had not yet been activated.
Investigators said the robber is suspected in several other armed robberies in the area.
THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS IS, THE OWNER WAS NOT INJURED AND NO CHARGES WILL BE FILLED. THAT'S HOUSTON TEXAS FOR YOU.
Good show! When you fight back, you win.

Not always! I have read of women beating the tar out of home invaders with pots and pans. I read of an unarmed elderly man who took a shotgun away from a home invader and told the scumbag to seek greener pastures.
Criminals generally expect us to submit. When we don't, they are surprised. We can capitalize on that and defeat them.
(And please no lectures from the sheepdog warriors about "getting inside the OODA loop." This stuff is easy to understand without wanna-be jargon.)
Still, we should strive to obey the First Rule of Gunfighting.

Good, that is to close for comfort. I am in that area often.

Good on the storekeeper. I only hope we all could respond so decisively.

God bless Texas..................
It scares me to think what would happen to the shopkeeper if this scenario had happened here in New York.
Lets just hope that a civil case is not files...I've seen it happen and actually pay off for the "victims" family. There was a case in Ohio several years ago where a BG was shot and killed and the BGs family sued for wrongful death. I don't remember the payout but they got paid. Seems the judge thought that killing a man with a gun robbing your store is not the way to handle things. The store owner was forced to close.
Got to love This political correct world. Personally I think it hurts my fragile self esteem to have to try and not hurt others feelings![]()
Pack up and move to Texas... Not Florida, it's busy enough here now...
Regarding civil suits, remember that (a) you have to survive the fight to appear in court, and (b) castle doctrine in many states applies to civil court.

trial by 12 or burial by 6..
I'm glad he got free and was a good enough shot.
Indeed... I second that.. God bless Texas! that he won't have to face either.
