Mostly a Question for the Vietnam Vets

My mom and I had this conversation tonight and I wanted to get your take on it. My dad was flipping through channels while I was eating dinner and he stopped on a movie staring none other than Jane Fonda. He watched it for a long time, only shutting it off when he went to bed (ok, mom shut it off in disgust). Mom's opinion is that he should be ashamed of himself for watching any movie "the b**ch" is in since he is a Vietnam Vet. Heck, I wasn't alive during that period of time and even I won't watch any movies she's in.

So my question is this: do you watch any movies Jane Fonda is in? What is your opinion on the whole thing in general, really.

I'm really just sort of curious.

I won't watch any of her movies, but its not because of any political stance.

I think she's an a-hole, dumb as a rock, and her movies suck!

She, John Kerry and a few others should have been put in jail back then. I do not watch her movies.

I'm not a Viet Nam vet but two of my brothers are and she protested against them. She's a low life maggot infested piece of trash. No I don’t watch her.

I do not, and will not, watch anything that slut is in. My wife wanted to go to her last movie. I refused.

I went from 1S to 4A (draft clasification for the young ones) back then but I do remember her sitting on an antiaircraft gun in Hanoi. Kissing up to the SOB's while our guys were giving their all whether they wanted to or not.....and most didn't want to. I was a long haired hippie (am again

) but that whole antiwar thing never did sit right in my craw and still doesn't!! That is about the BLACKEST spot on our nations honor the way we treated those men and she was a HUGE part of it. So what do I think?

This is interesting. 40+-+- years ago; a misguided young woman took a stance.
We; of that vintage; too were taking stances. Draft notices, lied to by enlistment officer, jambed into hostile times, blasted by the "free" movement. Leaving for Canada, going to Sweden, Denmark

Not allowed to really fight, not allowed to go for 'broke' to "win" and get out.
Politically, morally, emotionally, many suffered thinking what we were doing against our ?will? was for the betterment of society.

Losing in Vietnam, loosing at marbles, just doesn't suite many of my compatriot's. My "todays" Montenyards friends laugh and cry with me.
The loose the of the family's freedom, total breakdown with government,

In my estimation Jane was wrong, what our government did was worse.
War should not come down politics, my dead friends shouldn't have been pawns;

My choice; yesterday is gone, many of my friends [era] haven't spent any time reliving; we just moved on. Tomorrow when I wake; Jane Fonda plays no part to my day.
Yesterdays stories are no fun; we lost.

Not that I'm a vet or anything...
Hell no, unless she is in a movie directed by Mel Gibson, starring Ted Nugent, does her own stunts and (tragically) dies during filming,

I'd pay some good money to see that.
