Harbinger of things to come....

Remember in the movie "Patton" when George C. Scott says he had a dream about horse-drawn carts and realized it meant that the Nazis were beaten?

I went to a big gun show here in NoVA this weekend and had that feeling. Now the same show was here in November and in December there was one just down the road in Fredericksburg and they had normal attendance levels.

But in the wake of all the primary election campaigns, the show this weekend was jammed. I've never seen so many folks buying guns. Now it could be coincidence or the stimulus package (

), but I think this is bordering on panic buying in anticipation of large Dem majorities in congress with a Dem president. I see it as an indicator of where gun owners think US policy will be heading next year.

One of the main reasons I bought my AR this year was because I feared a Dem in the White House and another "assault weapon" ban. Granted, I was going to get one anyway, but I made the push to save up the cash quicker since I was afraid I might have to wait 8+ years to get another chance.

The real panic buying will come in Oct., Nov., Dec., and Jan. if the Socialist get elected.

i've thought of buying an AR myself for that very reason. who knows when if ever again they'll be legal to buy. especially with all the mass shootings striking fear into people's hearts. a ban on AR platform guns would be a huge blow to the firearm industry as well.

I too will admit that I had always wanted an AK47 and it was on my list of guns to buy, but it got bumped up to priority level this year, which is why I sort of went ahead and bought the AK47 the way I did. I normally don't buy guns that close together (usually because buying a gun dips my account way low), but I went ahead and did it now before the prices went through the roof from dealers trying to cash in. The reasons people have for voting for who they are voting for scares me a little. I've met way more women than I care to think about say they are voting for Hillary because "it is time for us to have a woman in the White House." Well, what else do you know about her other than her cup size, honey? And yeah, meeting plenty of gun shop employees who are supporting Hillary and Obama. Even had one toss a gun nut Bush arguement at me. WTF?!

I think they are allready working on a bill in congress. If I remember it is house bill 1022. I read someplace about it briefly and will be calling my congressman today to see whats up.
If you are not on a first name bases with your national reps now is the time to get to know them. Call there local district office and set up a meeting with them when thay are home on breaks. It will take a while but get on there schedule and let them know who you are and what you stand for. It's not always the second ammendment that I call my guys about, but they know who I am and how many like minded friends I have.
