Posting pictures

I think I need help, I've read shipwrecks post several times to make sure I got it right for uploading pictures to this forum but I don't know if it is working. I put in the url or whatever it is called like this[IMG]img59imageshack.us/i/1265738586956bushpic.jpg[/IMG] Then I check preview post and the thing just lays there doing nothing. I tried the long version in the instruction menu and it's the same thing. Duh..

I feel your pain brother. I had a hell of a time at first. Now, I am a picture posting whore.

I also use imageshack. Here is how I do it and it is probably the slow way(some help for me here too, please). When I am at the page with all of my photos, I right click on the one I want. Then click on "view image". When that opens up look at the bottom of the picture and you will see a magnifying glass. That is zoom, click on it. Then it will open another page with just the photo. Copy what is in the browser at the top of the page. Then go to the thread you want to place the picture in. There is a little picture of a mountain to click on to insert image. Click that and paste the link you just copied. Be sure and remove the "http://" that is already there or it will screw you up. Damn, sorry about all this, good luck. Told you, I need help too.

There is a URL in a box marked "direct link" or just "direct", this is the code you need to copy and paste. You can use the insert image icon (as explained above) or type out the [img] tags yourself.

this is what it should look like before you submit:

[img]http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/6001/imageshackimages.png[/img]

if you are missing any of the dots or slashes or double up on the http:// (or omit it) it won't work.

Thanks tons guys, I'm reading your posts, It's early this am and I have to go to work so I can buy more arms. When I get home tonight I'll plunge into this again. Whats screwing me up is imageshack has several choices as to how to upload into whatever, thumbnail, forum, and some other stuff. Talk to you later.

right, it can be confusing. Just look for the one labeled "direct" and ignore the rest for now.

Ok thanks Bruce that screen you put up there is a help. I think I hit the forum one.
Live and learn. Right now I'm hunting down a Stoeger Cougar in 9mm, can't seem to find anyone with a two tone. If this is not here when I get back in about an hour I'll go to the How to... If I forget. Again thanks loads everyone.
