Look around in the ammunition section of the forum.
The consensus is that Walmart has the cheapest ammunition. I prefer Blazer Brass, Winchester White Box (WWB), and Remington UMC in that order. They'll all work for plinking.

What do ya'll who have the FNP-45 find shoots the best out of it?? I'm talking about something on the cheaper side for plinking and practice at the range. Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm fairly new to this whole semi-auto life.![]()

the guy at the gun shop recommended staying away from the "Big Box" ammo. Walmart, etc. his blazer brass $14, local gunstore $ 9 (range recmendation). Walmart??? alum casing on the 9mm is the Dif in pricing.
any dif in accuracy? 7- 10 or 25 yards?
???

I don't quite understand what you're trying to say here. Anyways, the reason he says to stay away from the "Big Box" ammo is because he wants you to buy from him!No Walmart I've been to has carried aluminum casing ammo, although it's possible that some might. There's no reason to stay away from Walmart ammo. Every single person that I've ever gone shooting with, buys their practice ammo from Walmart. Not only that, but so do most of the people on this forum. The accuracy will be fine for self-defense distance practice. It's not "match" ammunition, nor is it intended to be.

I've fired six or seven brands of brass-cartridge ammunition through our FNP9 (sorry -- it's not the 45) with no problems of any kind. It seems to love everything. I have about 1,700 rounds of brass-case Sellier and Bellot ammunition in the closet (along with some Hydra-Shok JHP) right now.
If the 45 is like the 9, it just doesn't care, although I have to admit that I haven't tried steel- or aluminum-cased ammunition.

Personally for plinking & Practice I use Blazer Brass, but I also reload.
Here the steel case Blazer is only a $1.00 difference. But I also run a box of 20 golddots through just to make sure my primary defensive ammo is still feeding well. Something to do with any weapon you put your life on the line with.
I've had good luck with these: http://georgia-arms.com/index.aspx http://www.ammoman.com/index.htm
I've bought over 1k from each... not a single problem! Great for the range!
I just wouldn't use any steel casings...the one box I bought, had a tacky film on them, and I shot half the box, and the jamming started. Cleaned the Carbine, and shot brass since....not one jam. I am new to all this, and learned the hard way, if it is real cheap, it is probably real cheap!
