I bought my FNP because it was $50 less than other 9mm pistols I was looking at, and it had the solid FN reputation. I could not possibly be happier. I don't keep a written record of rounds fired, but it must be up to about 1,200 or 1,300 so far with a perfect record of reliability. I've even tried to get it to FTE or FTF by limp-wristing with no luck. I didn't get around to cleaning it after my previous trip to the range, so it is up to about 700 rounds since its last cleaning. No problems.
I have heard there was some kind of trigger weight problem on early FNP9s (2005 or so), but that these were fixed under warranty and newer buyers like me haven't had reported issues. If the 45 is like the 9, it will be all that and a barrel of chicken.
