first, connecticut is a MAY issue state ,, so you can be denied for no reason at all BUT they rarely do, so IF you qualify you should get your permit in about 8 weeks.

here is a link to the application, read it, and IF you are a bad guy, felon, drunk, druggy, abuser, nutburger, illegal alien or all around piece of work.... go ahead and blow your money because they do a background check..... if you are a good guy, get the form submitted and in 2 short months you are good to go! let us know how it works out!

Thanks Teddebearfrmhell! I got no record of any kind. It's been little over 4 weeks now since I submitted my application . I purchased a rifle before so I know that I don't have anything that will hurt my application.

My other question is does Ledyard police department ever give anyone a hard time on issuing a permit? Because when I submitted my application they told me that 10 weeks and I will be receiving a letter. But in the ct statue said that between 6-8 weeks the required time frame for them to respond. So I just wonder if anyone live in Ledyard had experience like mine.

i would not worry about the difference, i have heard of many jurisdictions taking their sweet time (or as they call it "Getting backed up")
