newbie with question, possible stupid question

Hi everyone! I am new here and have a question for the competitive target shooters which there seem to be a few here. i'm not very well versed in competition/target pistols at all so I figured I'd turn to you fine folks. I have a Metro Arms SPS Vista Long in .38 super, a little more info on the gun:5.5" barrel, 21+1 capacity, chrome/black finish, single action, muzzle compensator with 3 ports, ramped match grade threaded barrel with wide flared magwell, and scope mount. Now, I thought competition/target shooting was with .22, so I guess my question is that is this a true competition pistol and would that be proper advertising for it for sale purposes? Thank you in advance for any help and information you can give.

Although I'm not familiar with the manufacturer, from the specifications, that seems to be a rather specialized pistol intended to be used only for one or two certain types of competitive shooting. I think the best way to describe it would be to call it an Unlimited or Open class combat/action/steel pistol, and list the specifications as you did above. Photos would help, and if the manufacturer has a website that shows/describes the model, link to the website in your ad. If it was built or modified by a well-known custom gunsmith, then link to the gunsmith's site.

That gun is meant for speed competitions that grew out of the "practical" pistol shooting. Look up things like "Steel Challenge", "IPSC" and "USPSA". An Open class 3 gun shooter might use it also.

Thank you so much for all your help. I knew it was competition just didn't know what kind, I think it was that its in 38 super that really threw me. Again, thank you I appreciate the knowledge. And check out metro arms, they are Israeli made and from what I've read and heard they are second to none in quality control... supposedly test fire every gun manufactured.

Sorry about no picture but I just joined and not allowed to post pics yet I guess. Any ideas where would be best to post a pistol like this for sale? Other than gun broker, I don't think many know what it is or for. Are there any competition sites I can post on that I'm not finding? Honestly, if I don't sell it I'm going to shoot it then I can't sell it new so I might as well keep it. The gun us SICK!!!
