Been looking at different guns for fun and maybe to get back into competitive shooting. Looking at the qualifying list for IPSC the XDM 5.25 is not permitted unless my list is out of date? This gun feels the best in my hand, I can manipulate the mag release etc the easiest and the grip feels real good. I am thinking of getting this gun in .40 cal if it is approved for IPSC. Anyone know if or when it might be?
In the US, USPSA is the acrony they use, not IPSC. And yes the 5.25 .40 cal XDM is on the approved gun list for Production. If it were not you could still use it in Limited or Open.
Hey--as an additional note--you wont be as competitive with an XD as you will be with say, a GLOCK. An M&P. Or any of another dozen manufacturers. They are just not up to speed, and this is why useage fell so precipitously over the last 3 years. Think about it before ya buy. There is a reason.

Meh. XD, M&P, Glock...they are all good competition guns. But it is the Indian, not the arrow that matters. Just pick the gun that you enjoy shooting the most.
