    Ground cloth suggestions needed

What if anything do you use for a ground cloth?

the local club shoots PPC outdoors and several positions are shot on the ground, including prone. It we recomended I have a groundcloth to stay clean/dry.

Second is I'm new to reloading and that means catching my brass. For competition it's not a concern (i'll have few if any options) but for practice I was thinking of using said ground cloth spread out where by brass lands making it easier to pick up, especially when shooting on grass.

My thoughts are fleece (I dont like fleece but it's easy and cheap to get) and it will get dirty and wet or a tarp - slippery and noisy and for catching brass probably not as good as fleece, but it won't leak water.

I don't hunt and my camping is done in a trailer so I don't know if there is some type of ground cloth out there for that which would work for my needs.

Back when I was shooting competitively, we used closed-cell-foam sleeping-bag pads.
There's a kind of closed-cell foam that's blue in color and only about 1/2" thick, but it's lightweight, it has a really tough skin, and it's really hard to damage. It used to be available cut-to-order, so you could get almost any size pad.

IPSC prone shooting used to start from standing, so the pad had to absorb not only a full-grown adult falling on it, but also abrasion from skidding against dirt and stones. This blue stuff really worked.

They didn't used to be particularly expensive.
Maybe get one of your own.
