    Where to shoot in LA?

Hey, everyone. I'm moving to LA this week (Larchmont area). Can anyone recommend a good range in the area? Closer is better, of course.

I'm afraid I don't know where the Larchmont area is. I frequent a range in Huntington Beach. There's another range that I've been to in the Laguna Niguel area (both are in the southern Orange County area). There's also the Prado Olympic Shooting Park in Chino and the Insight Shooting Range in Artesia. Can't think of any other ones off the top of my head.

I'm in the LA County. I go to the Burbank Firing Line, Burro Canyon and Angeles Crest.

I did visit the LAX indoor shooting range. It was pretty decent.

Sorry to jack the thread, but, I'm new to the Temecula/Murrieta area, any places to shoot close by?

Thanks. Looks like I have to travel a minimum of 24 miles.

The Firing Lane in Burbank is alright. I go there. I heard the one in Downtown LA on 6th Street is suppose to be nice!

I'm going to suggest a private club: the Desert Marksmen Rifle and Pistol Club (DM). They have a private range with pistol and rifle facilities in Angeles National Forest, out near Palmdale. They're far from you in miles (maybe 60) but easy to get to, via freeway.
DM's leased land includes rifle out to 1,000 yards, complete with target pits and rising targets. There's an NRA-style pistol range for 25- and 50-yard formal work, and a couple of IPSC/IDPA pistol ranges for various kinds of practical shooting. There's trap and skeet, too, if you bring your own launchers.
If you're interested, e-mail Bill Johnson at WolfGBldAx@aol.com, and ask him about how to join. Bill is in charge of the SCTC Practical Shooting program at DM, so if you'd like to try that, tell him.
Tell Bill that Steve, the ex-Editor, sent you.

    Refer to California Penal Code...

    246. Any person who shall maliciously and willfully discharge a
firearm at an inhabited dwelling house, occupied building, occupied
motor vehicle, occupied aircraft, inhabited housecar, as defined in
Section 362 of the Vehicle Code, or inhabited camper, as defined in
Section 243 of the Vehicle Code, is guilty of a felony, and upon
conviction shall be punished by imprisonment in the state prison for
three, five, or seven years, or by imprisonment in the county jail
for a term of not less than six months and not exceeding one year.
As used in this section, "inhabited" means currently being used
for dwelling purposes, whether occupied or not.

Please don't click it as I don't know, nor do I wanna find out at work if it is actually a working URL, in fact I'm going to make it so it doesn't work hehehe.
