Saturday, I bought a Browning/FN Model 1922 7.65 ACP pistol. It has small Nazi eagles, but no other military markings, has the big black grips and is in just beautiful condition. SN is 95615a, with the a in script. Had an (H) on the left of the slide and an R on the left of the trigger guard. Has 1 small eagle on the left of the frame, 1 on the left of the slide and one on the barrel chamber...that seems to be all of it. Not fired much, and nearly pristine black/blue. It feels really good in the hand, and it is easily the nicest example I have seen in 45 years of looking at guns.
I like it so much I bought 2 more a few minutes ago online...One is much older pre-war and one from right before the war...One is a commercial model, the other has a lanyard ring and a lot of Belgian marks, so I assume it's a police or military pistol...but I won't have either till next week.
I will put up some pix when I get some better ones later this week and when the new ones arrive.
What a well designed and thought out pistol from John Browning!
