anti-gun idiot

how do you Arizona folks feel about one of your not so favorite sons Fred Mcchesney.he has an anti gun radio program in phoenix.i am having a running argument w/him about gun control and he loses every time.then he resorts to tantrums and personal attacks on my grammar, since he cant win the argument.if you don't know who he is send him an email telling him hes nuts for supporting gun control. he will mail you back w/some cry baby rant that makes no sense. his email is...fred@foxlies.com...please help me deal with this fool.how he ever got a radio program is beyond me,the anti gun people were really grasping at straws when they supported this guy.

Never heard of him, though I've been away from Phoenix since January. What station is he on?

I don't think someone is necessarily "nuts" and a "cry baby" and an "idiot" for supporting gun control. They might be misinformed or misled or haven't been shown the facts. Maybe they've weighed the pros and cons of the issue and find our arguments unconvincing. My own wife was antigun when I met her, but has since come around to the point where she carries daily.

Anyway, ad hom attacks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominen) are hardly the way to bring someone around to our side. Calm, reasoned, factual debate is the only way to go.

when i say childish,thats just the way he acts when answering my emails.he was shot in the face by his brother when a kid and has never gotten over it.

just send him an email saying anything good about guns and you'll see what i mean.i hope everyone on the forum emails him. he thinks everybody that carries a gun is a coward but of course he never explains why in any of his statements. he just begins an personal attack on you just like a spoiled child.when i try to explain why some people carry he takes it as a personal attack on himself.heres his email address again fred@foxlies.com

He is just ignorant (uninformed). Anyone with average logical intelect shouldn't just rant about things they know nothing about.

That site sums up most of the things I hate about liberalism. And I don't hate all liberal ideas.

For the record I consider myself a moderate with conservative leanings.

Anyway it characterizes the typical liberal response: Step 1 Demon-ize the problem, Step 2 Stir up an emotional response among the base, Step 3 blame everyone else, Step 4 argue and rant ineffectively, Step 5 Downplay any facts not supporting the liberal point of view, Step 6 This one is important, Do nothing whatsoever to actually fix the problem, instead just let the Conservatives do something, and if they fail make sure to point it out for all to see.

Not for nothing, but I think conservatives do pretty similar things. It's how politics is played in today's world.

Do Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter or Lou Dobbs really do much outside these six steps? They are especially guilt of Step 5. We might agree with them and their conservative points of view, but they are playing to us as their "base" (Step 2) just like the liberals are doing with gays, environmentalists, labor unions, and the anti-war crowd.

It's not like "conservatives" have done crap on big issues like immigration or the crumbling war effort. They just run though the steps and then blame the liberals.

I think it's best just to take this stuff as entertainment. If you don't like it, change the station.

Mike, I agree with the calm, reasoned, factual debate. Sometimes, actually more often than not, my experience with the anti-gun folks has them screaming there point across. It seems the less informed or knowledgeable they are on a subject the louder they get. Ranting, then you will hear the inevitable no blood for oil and illegal war and other retereck that has nothing to do with the subject matter.
I think an occasional email to rattle the cage of someone like this is not too much to ask. If for nothing more than to stimulate more entertaining rant.

some of us take it as entertainment,but many young people that don't know anything about 2nd amendment rights and gun control issues will buy into it. we cant all just sit back and take it as entertainment.

Don't worry about him hes going to lose his job when air America goes bankrupted soon when George Sorros money runs out lol. Sorros Personally funds Air America to try to keep it afloat, but its falling
